Microsoft's Hololens

It's now obvious that Microsoft can't count, with the skipping of Windows 9 to directly Windows 10.
But in their Windows 10 live event, they introduced something else, that i was not expecting at all.

Hololens.

Microsoft claims it to be the next generation of computing. Not only does it have a traditional CPU and GPU. It also has another processor.
The lens agumates Hologram into real world. I is completely independent, as in, it does not require any external hardware to run. No phones, no PC.
Is this the future?
We have been seeing holograms in Science-Fiction for a long time now. And now it's becoming a reality.
But this also reminds me of a couple of other technological wonders that's been introduced.

Virtual Reality Headsets: Whether it be the new and trending Oculus Rift, or Sony's Project Morpheus. VR headsets ahave made their appearance. And are mostly popular for giving new dimensions to gaming. But these have their own limitations. And basically bring social interaction to a halt.

Google Glass: This has gotten mixed reaction. It's a cool new technology, no doubt. But some people hate it.Personally i like it. I will buy this the first opportunity i get.

How is Hololens different from these two?
while Occulus completely immerses you into the virtual world, Hololens brings 3D holograms into your world. While Google Glass is more of a communication based device, Hololens is more in line with a Computer.

Hololens has the ability to track your eye-movement, which even google glass has. but since its more of a replacement for a computer, its not a thing you'd wear everywhere you go unlike Google Glass.

Is this the Future?
Or is t just a fad?
I dont give a shit.
As with the Google Glass, I'd buy this the first opportunity i get.
